RabidBogscum:
Ok so the Handicap was 1,050,000 after I brought my Amber Wizard Along (who I didnt use).
He took Ramtut III (2 Cas), Hack N Slash (1 Cas), Igor (who failed to revive his dead Wight), Bribe (which kept Hack on for a 2nd drive) 200k Random (A Ballista that took out Vixen for the game), Wizard (which took out Hera for the game, and prevented my stopping his TD).
Ignore the Cas stats... unofficially they were 4 (D-T1 Crowd Push, 3 x BH-Block, Stab, Rock) vs 6(BH and MNG by Ramtut, MNG Chainsaw, Si Crowd push, 2 x BH Ballista, Wizard).

Seriously tough game. Was 1-1 at half time and I had 5 in the Cas box I think, maybe 4. Got some pressure on him.. pushing up hard against a deep kick and relatively unprotected sides, and managed to squeeze the ball out twice in the second half.. by blitzing or blitz stabbing. Missing a key player for next game in Cassandra who was apothed so she didnt lose MA, but was MNG anyway. Needed to sacrifice Cleopatra on the sideline while I commited players to secure the telling TD and she promptly lost her extra armour. One more MNG means we will start against Geoff with only 11 players. I can sense a Wood Elf Finale.

Thanks for the game Pete. Nicely done.

Bennett needs to Roll a roll unless you want me to do it. Did you wanna buy a new Wight?
Sentient_Bean:
Great game! Full marks to Rabid and the Visigoths who had the character to push past some heavy losses to secure a nice 3-1 scoreline.

It was looking tight for a while but the Visigoths' class shone through and some good coaching punished a few schoolboy errors on the VVV's part re set up and player placement. Back to the coaching drawing board for season 2!

Losing the Wight wasn't fun (yes, buy me a new one please Rabid and roll for Bennett if that's ok) but his heart wasn't in it anyway... (it was harvested for a organ transplant at the morgue where I found him).

All in all, it was a blast to play everyone in the league. Looking forward to having another tilt in the next season. Best of luck to the finalists!!

And thanks for the game and the hospitality, James! Go on and win the sucker! :)

DoubleSkulls:
Well it was a big semi final with the Rats getting a huge amount of inducements 650k - which went on a bribe, wizard, skitter and hakflem. Good choices that made the game awkward to say the least.

The elves won the fame, but the rats the toss and elected to receive. The bribe went on turn with a stun on a line elf, turn 2 Skitter got badly hurt, but the rats managed to run in a straight forward TD for 1-0. Turn 3 Rose took out Hakflem (-ST) on the line with a 3 dicer - 460k of inducements gone and only the wizard left. The elves scored with 3 turns to play. A riot made it four and the elves managed to turn over the rats, the wizard stunned one elf (out of 4 in the fireball) and then Richard double skulled the first block allowing the elves an easy 2-1 lead at the half.

Second half started with a blitz, but a burnt reroll and a failed GFI meant there wasn't too much pressure. The elves regrouped and Elm finally managed to get on the scoresheet in her 3rd game.

However the fouling rats carried on kicking and Oak finally sucumed to a brutal kick. 18 games played. 9 TDs, 5 Cas, 2 MVPs for 47 SPPs. -MA, after a +MA and -Av is just too much bloat to stand (and 30k for fan favourite).

The rats managed to get one back, but couldn't stop the elves rolling forward for a 4th and sealing their first SLOBB final. Can they finally beat one of the other big elven teams?
Virral:
Well I think Ian's covered things pretty well! I feel like I got more than a fair helping of 1s, but honestly it was always going to be an uphill battle. The Anarchists are just such an incredibly solid team now, with a dependable Big Guy and Block/Wrestle and/or Dodge on pretty much every player it's tough to beat. They certainly never came close to needing all four rerolls each drive!

Good luck in the finals mate :D

DoubleSkulls:
With over 800k to spend Justin had a lot of options. He went for a babe, wizard, icepelt and mercenary snow troll and ulfwerner. In my option that was suboptimal since he elected not to go with the saw or take any tackle mercs. Gate went to him and it was sunny, so I chose to kick.

The first kick off result was weather - great! and best of all the ball ended up coutesy of a dropped catch right on the sideline on the LOS. However Justin recovered the ball and caged up before Icepelt doubleskulled against Rose. A couple of turns later I'd engineered the opening and sacked the ball carrier. The ball was surrounded and Justin pushed back one of my players onto the ball - it went to Cedar who caught it and in turn 4 ran in the first.

Next kick off was another great kick - with the ball in the endzone and I got a blitz. Durian marked the thrower who Justin decided to dodge with anyway - diving tackle caused the turnover and Durian picked up in the EZ to score. 2-0. Another drive, another turnover from Icepelt and Durian picked up her second. 3-0 and only 7 turns played.

Second half was a little tougher, I set up badly so ended up not having enough players in the right position. I still managed to get a lot downfield, but good pressure from Justin and 3 both down results against a catcher meant I couldn't break through. Next turn Teak double oned and Icepelt sacked Cherry. Thankfully he missed a TZ and ended up trying to dodge with a lineman through TZ and couldn't recover the ball. Cherry did and Durian picked up her 3rd for 4-0.

Next drive an dropped passed put a bit of a scrum on the right side of the LOS. I recovered the ball and caged up, but a fireball destroyed the cage and Justin recovered. However an inaccurate pass gave me possession and Durian passed and Cedar ran in the fifth.

A good game, but Justin's choice of inducements didn't help. I think he might have tried to overconcentrate on getting rid of Rose - and that meant too much was tied up against a passive player.

Virral:
This started horribly for the Hornets, with 780k in inducements they took Skitter, Hakflem, Merc w DP, Wizard and 2x 50k cards.

No Shade received, and scored a pitch invasion which stunned 5 rats (including Skritter) all on the same side of the pitch, in exchange for one stunned elf. By two turns later, they had successfully fouled out Skritter before he had thrown his first stab. By turn three I had lost my Wizard to a fizzled lightning bolt, wasting another 150k of inducements.

After a bit of a Trampoline Trap kurfuffle, the Woodelves scored relatively easily. This is where things started to go wrong for them.

Multiple Casualties and several successful fouls saw the Hornets equalised and having removed Shade's three reserves. By half way through the second half, the score had climbed to 2-1 in the Hornets favour and the Elves were down to 5 players on the field, with most of the rest in the Cas box. If the Woodies managed to score again, it would go into overtime and thanks to the overwhelming player advantage things looked very good for the Hornets.

As it turned out, we prevented the reply touchdown, scoring yet another casualty this time against the Monster Str4 Wardancer. Now a Str3 Wardancer, he joined his buddy in the Cas box and the Hornets celebrated heartily with a few failed attempts to skill up a few more players in preparation for the Semi-Finals.

A very rough game for No Shade in the end, from what looked at the start like an easy win!

Lictor:
This was an interesting game. The easy way to describe it is the 1st half went Chavo's way and the second half was all mine.

The tell tale difference between this game and my last 2 however is that the people I knocked off the pitch stayed off! But Chavo's aggression in the 1st half had him 2 TD's on top and looking strong. Cracked and sacked my D and Ball Carrier and tottered over the line like it was the only way to play the game. Kudos to the pressure you put on and the precision strategy Chavo!

Then the winds of change blew in the second half and a cheeky way to get SPP's resulted in a fumbling Catcher watching a stampede of Centaurs hungry for blood, they soon walked it over after the Elves scramble fell down with a failed Dodge.

With only 6 or 7 players left Chavo was left with limited options but still pushed hard to have potential scorers and had me stretched to cover his extra strength/agility players properly. In some desperation Chavo pulls off a nice pass to his Ag 5 Elf, but he is covered by a Blitzing Minotaur who perplexed finds himself with the ball in his hands. I would say he deserved his eventual TD as he never failed a roll and only spent 2 turns face down on the pitch. With only 5(?) Elves left on the pitch Shai'tan Blitzed his way to the end zone unchallenged to draw even with the conference champs!
